Kanchanpur assembly constituency is in the North Tripura district of Tripura State. There are 42,028 voters in the constituency of which 37,026 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 88.1%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 72.52% Hindus, 0.93% Muslims and 2.77% Christians.

Prem Kumar Reang candidate belonging to Indigenousn People's Front Of Tripura won the seat in last election defeating Rajendra Reang of Communist Party Of India (Marxist) by 4,131 Votes.
