Tripura has 60 State assembly constituencies out of which 20 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (STs) and 10 for Scheduled Castes (SCs). The Assembly lasts for five years, except if dissolved earlier. The Assembly is at Gurkhabasti. Presently, the state's House is the eleventh assembly with Ramendra Chandra Debnath as the speaker of the house.
Some of the State Assembly constituencies in the West Tripura are Agartala, Majlishpur, Mohanpur, Bamutia, Barjala, Khayerpur, Simna Ramnagar, Town Bordowali, Banamalipur, Mandaibazar, Takarjala, Pratapgarh, and Kamalasagar
Some of the State Assembly constituencies in the South Tripura are Rajnagar, Belonia, Santirbazar, Hrishyamukh, Jolaibari, Manu and Sabroom.
