Bagbassa assembly constituency is in the North Tripura district of Tripura State. There are 42,889 voters in the constituency of which 37,182 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 86.69%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 73.20% Hindus, 15.24% Muslims and 6.35% Christians.

Bijita Nath candidate belonging to Communist Party Of India (Marxist) won the seat in last election defeating Jyotirmoy Nath of Indian National Congress by 2,932 Votes.
