About Saligao Assembly Constituency

Saligao is constituency No. 7 of Punjab legislative assembly. It is situated in North Goa district and comes under North Goa Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency. The state of Goa has 40 assembly constituencies. According to data with the Election Commission of India, Saligao assembly constituency has 23,782 registered voters. It comprises 11,802 male and 11,980 female registered voters.

In the 2012 Goa assembly elections, the BJP won this constituency convincingly by 5,808 votes. Dilip Parulekar, the winning BJP candidate, got 10,084 votes. The runner-up was Independent candidate D'souza Tulio who got 4,276 votes. The voter turnout was 81.76 %.
