About Chengannur Assembly Constituency

Chengannur is constituency No. 110 of Kerala legislative assembly. This unreserved constituency is situated in Alappuzha district. It comes under the Mavelikkara Lok Sabha constituency which is reserved for scheduled castes.

According to the Election Commission of India, Chengannur has 1,76,875 registered voters. It comprises 80,958 male and 95,917 female registered voters.

In the 2011 assembly elections, this seat was won by the Congress party. The winning Congress candidate, P.C. Vishnunath, secured 65,156 votes. C.S. Sujatha of CPI(M) was the runner-up with 52,656 votes. The voter turnout was 70.88 %.
