About Tirur Assembly Constituency

Tirur is constituency No. 45 of Kerala legislative assembly. It is situated in Malappuram district and comes under Ponnani Lok Sabha constituency. It is an unreserved constituency.

According to the Election Commission of India, Tirur assembly constituency has 1,66,314 registered voters. It comprises 77,126 male and 89,188 female registered voters.

In the 2011 assembly elections, Muslim League candidate C. Mammootty won this seat by a convincing margin of 23,566 votes. Mammootty got 69,305 votes. P. P. Abdullakutty of CPI was the nearest contender with 45,739 votes. The voter turnout was 75.98 %.
