About Kothamangalam Assembly Constituency

Kothamangalam is constituency No. 87 of Kerala legislative assembly. It is situated in Ernakulam district and comes under Idukki Lok Sabha constituency. It is an unreserved constituency.

According to the Election Commission of India, Kothamangalam has 1,44,256 registered voters comprising 73,457 male and 70,799 female registered voters.

In the 2011 Assembly elections, the Kerala Congress (Mani) won this seat by a margin of 12,222 votes. T.U. Kuruvilla, the winning KEC(M) candidate, got 52,924 votes. Independent candidate Skariah Thomas was the runner-up with 40,702 votes. The voter turnout was 74.48 %.
