About Inderwal Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Inderwal is a tehsil in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The assembly constituency of Inderwal is a part of Udhampur parliamentary constituency. The BJP for the first time fielded its candidate from the constituency in 2008 assembly elections. The seat has been occupied by INC since 2002. Ghulam Muhammad Saroori won the 2008 assembly elections for the second consecutive time and is the present MLA. He defeated Shakti Raj of BJP with a huge margin. Saroori bagged 22684 votes as against Raj's 12269 votes.
