About Ramnagar Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Ramnagar is a town in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. The town got its name from its last king Ram Singh.The area is mainly comprised of rural population. As of 2001 India census, it had a population of 6776. The assembly constituency of Ramnagar falls under Udhampur parliamentary constituency. Harsh Dev Singh of JKNPP won the 2008 assembly elections for the third consecutive time. He defeated Vinod Khajuria of BSP. Singh secured 30609 votes as against Khajuria's 18463 votes.
