About Keoti Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Keoti is in Darbhanga district of the state of Bihar and is a legislative assembly constituency. Keoti is the assembly constituency number 86 of the 243 segments. Keoti is a part of the Madhubani Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of Bihar. A total of 2,29,270 people of Keoti are enlisted by the Election Commission of India. Amongst the voters of the constituency 1,34,771 are men and 1,14,494 are women.

The Delimitation Commission of India in 2008 recommended that the Keoti assembly segment would comprise Simri, Arai Birdipur, Tektar, Banauli, Dighiar, Bharathi, Sadhwara, Bharhulli, Kaligaon, Hariharpur West, Hariharpur East, Madhopur Basatwara and Harpur gram panchayats of Singhwara community development block and Keoti CD block. The Keoti assembly seat belongs to BJP's Ashok Kumar Yadav. He defeated Faraz Fatmi of RJD with a mere 29 votes in the 2010 assembly elections. Ashok Kumar Yadav won 45,791 votes, while Fatmi got 45,762 votes.
