About Belhar Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Belhar constituency is currently represented in the Bihar Assembly by Giridhari Yadav of JDU. He got 70,348 votes in the Bihar assembly election held in the year 2010. Whereas BJP’s Manoj Yadav came up as runner up with 54,157 votes. Giridhar Yadav had also won the 2010 election, therefore he won his second term in the year 2015. Prior to him, another JDU MLA had won the 2005 (October) election. Hence, JDU has been winning the Belhar seat for 3 consecutive terms.

Belhar has about 2,89,906 eligible voters. Of them, 54.52 % had chosen to vote in the Bihar Assembly election 2015. Belhar is a part of the Banka Lok Sabha constituency and is located in the Banka district only. Belhar will undergo the process of election approximately in the months of October or November 2020, as per the schedule of the Bihar Assembly election 2020.
