Babubarhi, in Bihar's Madhubani district is the name of one the 243 legislative assembly constituencies of the state. After the implementation of the orders of the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008, Ladania and Babubarhi CD blocks, Chandargobraura South, Chandargobraura North, Kanhauli, Sukki, Inarwa, Bhakua and Chandardih gram panchayats of Khajauli community development block areas came under the Babubarhi assembly segment.

A total of 2,60,449 people are eligible to vote in Babubarhi assembly constituency. There are 1,37,039 men and 1,23,397 women who have the right to vote. The sitting MLA of the constituency is Uma Kant Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), who defeated Kapildeb Kamat of JD (U) by a margin of 4,913 votes in the 2010 assembly elections. Yadav got 51,772 votes, while Kamat managed 46,859 votes. The Babubarhi assembly segment lies in Jhanjharpur Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of Bihar.
