About Amarpur Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

One of the 243 legislative assembly constituencies in Bihar is Amarpur, which is located in the Banka district of the state. Amarpur is a part of the Banka Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency and is represented by Janardan Manjhi of JD (U) in the state legislative assembly. Manjhi won the seat after getting 47,300 votes in the 2010 assembly elections. He defeated RJD's Surendra Prasad Singh by a margin of 18,007 votes.

The Amarpur assembly constituency is home to a total of 2,52,908 eligible voters, out of whom 1,35,007 are men and 1,17,894 are women. The Amarpur legislative assembly segment comprises Amarpur and Shambhuganj community development blocks as recommended by the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008.
