Here are the highlights for Day 48 of Modi government

  • Narendra Modi today left for Brazil to attend the BRICS summit on July 14 and 15. This is PM’s first international summit after taking the office.
  • According to the sources, in Modi’s absence the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) will handle the urgent issues.
  • Though Modi did not watch the final of World Cup football, he wished the finalists. "Best wishes to Argentina & Germany for the FIFA World Cup Final. It is amazing how the tournament brought fans across the world together," Modi tweeted.
  • The new list of Parliamentary Party Executive Committee has been released in which Modi has been declared as the new party leader. Rajnath Singh is the deputy leader in the Lok Sabha and Arun Jaitley in the Rajya Sabha.
  • In order to decrease the gap between demand and supply, the government has set a target of 67.87 MT of production of coal for the coal mines of SAIL, JSPL and Sasan Power.
  • The Modi government promised to take 'extraordinary' steps to improve the health sector of the country. Fulfilling its promise, Union Minister Harsh Vardhan today said that policies and programmes will be implemented to make the country a healthy society.
