Aam Aadmi Party Elections 2015 Latest News And Live Updates

AAP names Sisodia, Birla in second list for Delhi polls
November 29, 2014 04:53 PM
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Saturday released its second list of 13 candidates, including two former ministers, for the Delhi assembly polls. Delhi's former education minister Manish Sisodia and social welfare minister Rakhi Birla have made it to the second list. Both of them have been selected from their respective assembly constituencies, Patparganj and Mangolpuri. However, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal's name did not figure in the second list. AAP senior leader Gopal Rai's name also appeared in the list, which contains six new names. Rai will contest from the Babarpur assembly constituency. The new names include Imran Hussain from Ballimaran, Asim Ahmed Khan from Matia Mahal, Hazari Lal Chauhan from Patel Nagar, Ram Niwas Goel from Shahdra, Mahindra Goel from Rithala and Rahgvendra Shaukeen from Nangloi Jat. Earlier, AAP had announced a list of 22 candidates. With this list the total number of candidates announced by the party touched 35. Source : IANS

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Candidates List

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) appears to be the most prepared and aggressively campaigning party of all. The party had deployed its troops in all the 70 assembly constituencies even when no dates in connection with the elections were announced.

The Chief Ministerial candidate of the party is none other than the AAP supremo and the former CM of Delhi - Arvind Kejriwal. He is again contesting the same seat of New Delhi, as he did the last time and won it. Some of the other eminent faces from the party are Manish Sisodia, Somnath Bharti and Rakhi Bidlan contesting Patparganj, Malviya Nagar and Mangol Puri seats respectively.

AAP's CM Candidate

AAP's chief ministerial candidate is by far the most recognised and the most celebrated face of the party. He is not the founder of the party. A former IRS (Indian Revenue Services) officer, Kejriwal functioned as Delhi CM for 49 days. He resigned from the post over his failure to get the 'Jan Lokpal Bill' passed in February 2014. Though he had a short-lived stint, Kejriwal had impressed and won over Delhiites. He hopes to do even better this time, but it is not going to be any easy task for him.
