Indian National Congress (INC) Candidates List 2014

The longest ruling party in the centre and in Delhi- the Congress seems completely out of sorts for the upcoming Delhi elections again. The party looks short of options and the number of leaders who could contest on its ticket. The congress has revealed a mere 12 names thus far, the list is obviously destined to go longer in the times to come.

It is unclear whether former CM Sheila Dixit will be one of the candidates or not. Her son Sandeep Dixit can definitely be one of the contenders of a seat, in whom many are seeing a possible CM candidate. Out of the twelve names revealed so far, Raj Kumar Chauhan from Mangol Puri, Haroon Yusuf from Ballimaran and Arvinder Singh Lovely from Gandhi Nagar are some of the bigwigs that the Congress will be relying upon.

In the 2013 Delhi legislative Assembly elections, the BJP had won 32 seats falling four short of the clear majority mark, but this time the political analysts are of the view that it might grab seats in excess of 40.

The BJP released the candidate list for the Delhi Assembly elections on January 19, 2015, just two days prior to the last date of filing the nominations. Amongst the 62 names announced initially, some of the recognisable faces were those of Kiran Bedi, Jagdish Mukhi, Krishna Tirath, Vinod Binny, Anil Jha, Manoj Shokeen, Vijender Gupta and RP Singh, to name a few. The BJP fielded a young leader Nupur Sharma against Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi constituency.
