Left Front Releases Manifesto for West Bengal Assembly Polls

Entreating voters to exercise their franchise to restore democracy in West Bengal, the Left Front released its election manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. The manifesto, which runs to 16 pages, commits to restore freedom of expression and promises that the police and administration will work in tandem with the tradition of multi-party democracy if it is voted to power. The manifesto mentions that the TMC needs to be defeated in order to weaken "communal forces like BJP" because the TMC had collaborated with the BJP before and was responsible for helping the BJP spread its 'influence' in West Bengal.
