Kashipur-Belgachia is constituency No. 168 of West Bengal legislative assembly. Situated in north Kolkata, this constituency is part of Lok Sabha constituency No. 24 which is Kolkata Uttar. It is an unreserved constituency. According to the Election Commission of India, the constituency of Kashipur-Belgachia has 2,10,566 registered voters. There are 1,15,237 male, and 95,329 female voters. In the 2011 assembly elections, Mala Saha of Trinamool Congress clinched this seat by defeating her nearest opponent, Kaninika Ghosh of CPI(M). Four male and two female candidates contested from this seat. Saha bagged 87,408 votes and won by a margin of 40,284 votes. Kaninika Ghosh, the CPI(M) runner-up, got 47,124 . The voter turnout was 67.32 %
