About Harirampur Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Harirampur is a legislative assembly constituency located in the Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal. It is a part of the Balurghat Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of the state. A total of 1,90,827 people of the Harirampur assembly constituency hold the right to vote; out of whom, 99,043 are men and 91,783 are women. As the Delimitation Commission of India recommended in 2008, Harirampur came into existence as a legislative assembly segment and it comprises Banshihari and Harirampur community development blocks. Biplab Mitra of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) currently represents the Harirampur constituency in the West Bengal state legislative assembly. Mitra was elected for the seat in the 2011 assembly elections when he got 65,099 votes and defeated CPM's Narayan Biswas by a margin of 7,067 votes.
