About Gazole Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

The Maldaha district of West Bengal is home to the Gazole legislative assembly constituency of the state. Gazole belongs to the Uttar Maldaha Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency. In 2014, the Election Commission of India identified a total of 2,16,240 people of the Gazole constituency as eligible voters as per the universal adult franchise. Amongst those eligible voters were 1,10,639 men and 1,05,600 women. INC's Sushil Chandra Ray represents Gazole in the state legislative assembly of West Bengal as he earned the right to do so when he won 74,654 votes in the assembly elections held in 2011. He defeated Gobinda Mandal of the CPM, who managed to get 69,070 votes. The Gazole legislative assembly segment consists of Gazole community development block. The constituency is reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs).
