About Champdani Assembly Constituency

Champdani is constituency No. 187 of West Bengal legislative assembly. It is in Hooghly district of West Bengal. It is part of Lok Sabha constituency No. 27 which is Sreerampur. Champdani is an unreserved constituency.

According to the Election Commission of India, Champdani has 2,09,316 registered voters. It has 1,10,735 male, and 98,581 female voters.

In the 2011 assembly elections, the Trinamool Congress scored its maiden victory in this constituency. TMC's Muzaffar Khan defeated his nearest contender, Jibesh Chakraborty of CPI(M), by a margin of 36,313 votes. Khan bagged 92,476 votes while Chakraborty got 56,163 votes. The voter turnout was 77.31%.
