About Alipurduars Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Alipurduars is a district, a Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency and a legislative assembly segment in the state of West
Bengal. The Election Commission of India identified a total of 2,24,976 people of the Alipurduars assembly constituency as eligible voters, out of whom 1,16,867 are men and 1,08,107 are women. The Alipurduars seat of the West Bengal state legislative assembly is currently held by INC's Debaprasad Roy (Mithu), who accounted for 79,605 votes in the assembly elections held in 2011. Kshiti Goswami of RSP settled as the runner-up who managed 72,822 votes.

According to the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India – 2008, the Alipurduars assembly segment consists of Vivekananda-I, Vivekananda-II, Banchukamari, Tapsikhata, Chakowakheti, Shalkumar-II, Shalkumar-I, Mathura, Patlakhawa and Parorpar gram panchayats of Alipurduar-I community development block; and Tatpara-II, Chaporerpar-II and Chaporerpar-I gram panchayats of Alipurduar-II community development block.
