About Pratapgarh Assembly Constituency

Pratapgarh is constituency No. 248 of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly. It is situated in Pratapgarh district and comes under
Pratapgarh Lok Sabha constituency in eastern Uttar Pradesh. It is an open constituency. The state has a total of 403 assembly constituencies.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Pratapgarh has 3,07,047 registered voters. It comprises 1,66,157 male and 1,40,881 female registered voters.

In the 2012 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party won this constituency by a margin of 7,510 votes. Nagendra Singh Yadav, the winning Samajwadi Party candidate, got 43,754 votes. The nearest contender was Sanjay of BSP who got 36,244 votes. The voter turnout was 55.27 %.
