About Noida Assembly (Vidha Sabha) Constituency – Bye Elections 2014

Noida Assembly Constituency of Uttar Pradesh will have by-polls on September 13, 2014. BJP’s Mahesh Sharma, a doctor by profession, vacated this MLA seat of Noida as he won the 2014 Indian General elections from Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha Constituency. The main contenders at these 2014 by-polls are Vimla Batham of BJP, Rajendra Awana of Congress and Kajal Sharma of the Samajwadi Party. Another thing that can be noted here is that that BSP have backed out these elections giving its principles of not contesting by-polls.

The previous Assembly Election held in the year 2012 had seen him emerge as the winner of the MLA seat after defeating BSP’s OmDutt Sharma.

Noida has over 5 lakh electors. Noida was a stronghold for BJP until Dr. Mahesh Sharma won the Lok Sabha polls earlier in May. The major issues of the area which is the focus of all the candidates is supply of power and water and rate of crime in the city. Apart from this people are also looking forward to the candidates who will fulfill promises of conversion of lease-hold property to free-hold and the toll free DND.
