About Muzaffarnagar Assembly Constituency

Muzaffarnagar is constituency No. 14 of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly. It is situated in Muzaffarnagar district and comes under the Lok Sabha constituency that goes by the same name. It is an open constituency.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Muzaffarnagar has 3,01,726 registered voters. It comprises 1,65,013 male and 1,36,685 female registered voters.

In the 2012 Assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party won this constituency by 15,002 votes. Chitranjan Swaroop, the winning candidate, bagged 59,169 votes. The nearest contender was Ashok Kansal of BJP who got 44,167 votes. The voter turnout was 56.11 %.
