About Tenkasi Assembly Constituency

Tenkasi is constituency No. 222 of Tamil Nadu assembly constituency. This unreserved constituency is situated in Tirunelveli district. It is part of the Tenkasi Lok Sabha constituency which is reserved for scheduled castes.

According to the Election Commission of India, the Tenkasi assembly seat has 2,15,324 registered voters including 1,07,917 male and 1,07,406 female voters.

In the 2011 assembly elections, the AIADMK won this seat by a good margin of 22,967 votes. Sarath Kumar R., the winning candidate, got 92,253 votes. With 69,286 votes, Karuppasami Pandian Y. of DMK was the runner-up. The voter turnout was 79.03 %.
