Thonoknyu assembly constituency is in the Tuensang district of Nagaland State. There are 18,484 voters in the constituency of which 16,168 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 87.47%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 99.43% Christians, 0.32% Muslims and 0.11% Buddhists. L Khumo Khiamniungan candidate belonging to NPEP won the seat in last election defeating S Heno Khiamniungan of Naga Peoples Front by 4,044 Votes.
