There are 24,229 voters in the constituency of which 17,194 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 70.96%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 46.49% Christians, 41.95% Hindus and 4.89% Muslims.
Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh candidate belonging to Indian National Congress won the seat in last election defeating Neil Antonio War of Bharatiya Janata Party by 6,074 Votes.
