About Thrithala Assembly Constituency

Thrithala is constituency No. 49 of Kerala legislative assembly. This unreserved constituency is situated in Palakkad district of Kerala. Thrithala belongs to Ponnani Lok Sabha constituency. According to the Election Commission of India, this constituency has 1,55,638 registered voters. It comprises 74,055 male and 81,583 female registered voters. In the 2011 assembly elections, the Congress party won this seat by a narrow margin of 3,197 votes. Advocate V.T. Balram of INC was the winning candidate. Balaram secured 57,848 votes while his nearest contender, Mammikutty P. of CPI(M), got 54,651. The voter turnout was 78.46 %.
