About Tanur Assembly Constituency

Tanur is constituency No. 44 of Kerala legislative asembly. It is situated in Malappuram district. It comes under Ponnani Lok Sabha constituency. Tanur is an open constituency. According to the Election Commission of India, Tanur has 1,33,276 registered voters. It comprises 64,086 male and 69,190 female registered voters. The Muslim League won this seat in the 2011 Assembly elections. Abdurahiman Randathani, the winning Muslim League candidate, secured 51,549 votes. He beat his nearest contender, E. Jayan of CPI(M), by a margin of 9,433 votes. Jayan got 42,116 votes. The voter turnout was 78.12 %.
