Ottapalam is constituency No. 52 of Kerala legislative assembly. It is situated in Palakkad district and comes under the Palakkad Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency.
According to the Election Commission of India, this assembly seat comprises 1,75,066 registered voters. It includes 82,923 male and 92,143 female registered voters.
In the 2011 assembly elections, this seat went to the CPI(M). M. Hamza, the winning CPI(M) candidate, got 65,023 votes. He beat his nearest contender, V.K. Sreekandan of INC, by a margin of 13,203 votes. The voter turnout was 75.09 %.
