Manjeri is constituency No. 37 of Kerala legislative assembly. This unreserved seat is situated in Malappuram district and comes under the Malappuram Lok Sabha constituency. The Malappuram Lok Sabha constituency was formed after delimitation in 2008.
According to the Election Commission of India, this assembly seat has 1,64,144 registered voters. It comprises 79,988 male and 84,156 female registered voters.
The Muslim League won this seat in the 2011 assembly elections. M. Ummer, the winning Muslim League candidate, bagged 67,594 votes. CPI candidate P. Gouri was the nearest contender with 38,515 votes. The winning margin was 29,079. The voter turnout was 71.01 %.
