About Guruvayoor Assembly Constituency

Guruvayoor is constituency No. 63 of Kerala legislative assembly. This unreserved constituency is situated in Thrissur district of Kerala. It is part of the Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency.

According to the Election Commission of India, the Guruvayoor assembly constituency has 1,78,144 registered voters. It comprises 83,157 male and 94,987 female registered voters.

The CPI(M) won this seat in the 2011 assembly elections. With 62,246 votes, CPI(M) candidate K.V. Abdul Khader emerged the winner. He defeated his nearest rival by a margin of 9,968 votes. The runner-up was Asharaf Kokkur of Muslim League who got 52,278 votes. The voter turnout was 72.01 %.
