Ernakulam is constituency No. 82 of Kerala legislative assembly. This unreserved assembly seat is situated in Ernakulam district and comes under the Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency.
According to the Election Commission of India, Ernakulam has 1,36,722 registered voters. It comprises 67,038 male and 69,684 female registered voters.
In the 2011 assembly elections, the INC won this seat by a convincing margin of 32,437 votes. Hibi Eden, the winning candidate, got 59,919 votes. Independent candidate Sebastian Paul was the nearest contender with 27,482 votes. The voter turnout was 71.16 %.
