About Dharmadam Assembly Constituency

Dharmadam is constituency No. 12 of Kerala legislative assembly. Situated in Kannur district, this constituency came into being in 2008 following delimitation by the Election Commission of India. It comes under Kannur Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency. According to the Election Commission of India, Dharmadam has 1,63,674 registered voters. It comprises 73,410 male and 90,264 female registered voters.

The CPI(M) won the Dharmadam assembly seat in the 2011 Assembly elections. K.K. Naraynanan, the winning CPI(M) candidate, got 72,354 votes. He beat his nearest contender by a margin of 15,162 votes. The runner-up was the independent candidate Mambaram Divakaran who got 57,192 votes. The voter turnout was 83.31 %.
