About Balusseri Assembly Constituency

Balusseri is constituency No. 25 of Kerala legislative assembly. It is situated in Kozhikode district. It comes under Kozhikode Lok Sabha constituency. This constituency is reserved for scheduled castes (SC). According to the Election Commission of India, Balusseri has 1,85,109 registered voters. It comprises 88,303 male and 96,806 female registered voters.

The CPI(M) won this seat in the 2011 Assembly elections. Purushan Kadalundi, the winning CPI(M) candidate, got 74,259 votes. He defeated his nearest contender by a margin of 8,882 votes. INC candidate A. Balaram was the nearest contender. Balaram got 65,377 votes. The voter turnout was 81.59 %.
