T. B. Jayachandra was born in Thimmanahalli, Tumkur in the year 1949. As a member of Indian National Congress Party he first time became MLA in 1978. In 2013 he was elected as MLA from Sira assembly constituency.
However, in the 2018 Vidhan Sabha elections he lost from Sira assembly constituency to JD(S) candidate B Satyanarayana by over 6 thousand votes.
Jayachandra was first elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1978.[8] He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly after winning from Sira during the 2013 election with 74,089 votes.[2] He lost from Sira in the Karnataka assembly elections 2018 to JD(S) candidate B Satyanarayana.
He was instrumental in bringing up series of barrages, bridge-cum-barrages, and impounding water structures to arrest the water and to increase underground water table, due to his efforts the borewells got rejuvenated and agriculture cropping area drastically increased in Sira Taluk. Which got attention and widely appreciated from the common man and lawmakers from across the Karnataka State.
