Murugesh Rudrappa Nirani is the MLA from Bilgi assembly constituency. He belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2018 Vidhan Sabha elections he defeated Jagadish Timmanagouda of Indian National congress by almost 5 thousand votes. He is serving as the Minister of large and Medium Industries in the government of Karnataka in Basavraj Bommai cabinet. He is a three time MLA from Bilgi assembly constituency.
