Mankala Subba Vaidya - Previous MLA from Bhatkal (79)

Mankal S. Vaidya is a Karnataka Legislative Assembly member and political activist with the Indian National Congress. He ran as an Independent candidate in the 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections from the Bhatkal-Honnavar assembly constituency and received 37,319 votes. In 2014, he joined the Indian National Congress. On February 25, 2018, he narrowly escaped assassination during a public function in Hosad village, Uttara Kannada district.
