M. Y. Patil is an Indian politician who is running for the Karnataka Vidhan Sabha in 2018 as the Indian National Congress candidate in the Afzalpur (Vidhana Sabha) district. As a Janata Dal (Secular) candidate, he was chosen to serve in the 2004 Karnataka Vidhan Sabha (MLA) from the Afzalpur Vidhana Sabha constituency. In order to unseat Malikayya Guttedar, he received backing from several figures, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyank M. Kharge, and ex-HKE President Basavaraj Bhimalli.
