H.S. Prakash - Previous MLA from Hassan (196)

H.S Prakash is the previous MLA from Hasan assembly constituency. He was a Janata Dal member (Secular). Prakash was a member of the Hassan city municipal council from 1983 to 1989, and the council's president from 1985 to 1987. In the 2013 Karnataka state assembly election, he was elected for the fourth time as a member of the legislative assembly. In the 1994 election, he was elected as MLA for the Hassan constituency for the first time. He ran unsuccessfully in the 1999 elections, but was re-elected in the 2004, 2008, and 2013 Karnataka state assembly elections.
