Abhay Patil is the MLA from Belgaum Dakshin assembly constituency. He belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2018 Vidhan Sabha elections he defeated M D Lakshminarayan of Congress party by almost 58 thousand votes. from 2004-2008 he represented Bagewadi assembly constituency and later from 2009 to 2013 he represented Belgaum Dakshin assembly constituency.
