About Rajmahal Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
One of the most historic places in Jharkhand, the city of Rajmahal is located in the Sahibganj district of the state. The assembly constituency of Rajmahal belongs to the parliamentary constituency of the same name. The seat which was won by INC in 2005 assembly elections was taken over by BJP in 2009. Arun Mandal of BJP defeated his nearest rival Md. Tajuddin of JMM. Mandal bagged 51277 votes as against Tajuddin's 40874 votes. The city had a population of 168,413 in 2011.
