On March 17, 1967 the second Vidhan Sabha or Legislative assembly of Haryana state was constituted under Section 73 of the Representation of People Act,1951. The legislative Assembly comprised 81 members, elected from 66 general and 15 reserved constituencies.
Rao Birender Singh (born on 20 February 1921 and passed away on 30 September 2009) was elected as the Chief Minister of Haryana. He served a term from 24 March 1967 until 2 November 1967. The Vidhan Sabha was dissolved on 21 November 21 1967, as the state was brought under President’s Rule.
In the second Vidhan Sabha, 11 bills were passed. The most important implementation was of the Haryana Maternity Benefit Rules, 1967.
