About Nizamabad Assembly Constituency

Nizamabad is constituency No. 348 of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly.
It is situated in Azamgarh district in Purvanchal region of the state. It comes under Lalganj Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency. The corresponding Lok Sabha constituency Lalganj is reserved for scheduled castes.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Nizamabad has 2,90,045 registered voters. It comprises 1,59,413 male and 1,30,632 female registered voters.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) defeated the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) convincingly by 23,843 votes in the 2012 Assembly elections. Alambadi, the winning Samajwadi Party candidate, got 63,894 votes. The nearest contender was Kalamuddin Khan of BSP who got 40,051 votes. The voter turnout was 52.22 %.
