About Mathura Assembly Constituency

Mathura is constituency No. 84 of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly. It is situated in Mathura district and comes under Mathura Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency. The state of Uttar Pradesh has a total of 403 assembly constituencies.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, there are 3,58,237 registered voters in Mathura assembly constituency. It has 1,99,925 male and 1,58,296 female registered voters besides 16 registered voters in the Others category.

In the 2012 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Congress defeated BJP by a slim margin of just 501 votes to win this constituency. Pradeep Mathur, the winning Congress candidate, got 54,498 votes. The nearest contender was Devendra Kumar Sharma of BJP who got 53,997 votes. The voter turnout was 56.30 %.
