About Jangipur Assembly Constituency

Jangipur is constituency No. 376 of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly. Uttar Pradesh has 403 assembly constituencies. Jangipur assembly constituency is situated in Ghazipur district and comes under the Ghazipur Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Jangipur has 3,11,256 registered voters. It comprises 1,69,018 male and 1,42,230 female registered voters.

In the last Assembly elections held in 2012, the Samajwadi Party won this constituency by a margin of 9,464 votes. Kailash, the winning Samajwadi Party candidate, got 72,208 votes. The nearest contender was Manish Chandra Pandey of BSP who got 62,744 votes. The voter turnout was 59.69 %.
