About Etawah Assembly Constituency

Etawah is constituency No. 200 of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly.
It is situated in Etawah district and comes under the Etawah Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency. The corresponding Lok Sabha constituency is reserved for scheduled castes.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Etawah has 3,39,750 registered voters. It has 1,87,147 male and 1,52,603 female registered voters.

The Samajwadi Party defeated Bahujan Samaj Party by a margin of 6,264 votes to win this seat in the 2012 Assembly elections. Raghuraj Singh Shakya, the winning Samajwadi Party candidate, got 74,874 votes. The nearest contender was Mahendra Singh Rajpoot of Bahujan Samaj Party who got 68,610 votes. The voter turnout was 58.97 %.
