About Balrampur Assembly Constituency

Balrampur is constituency No. 294 of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly.
It is situated in Balrampur district and comes under the Shrawasti Lok Sabha constituency in northern part of Uttar Pradesh. This assembly constituency is reserved for scheduled castes.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Balrampur has 3,56,376 registered voters. It comprises 1,98,312 male and 1,58,061 female registered voters.

The Samajwadi Party won this constituency by 18,262 votes in the 2012 Assembly elections. Jagram Paswan, the winning Samajwadi Party candidate, got 47,120 votes. The nearest contender was Ramapati Shastri of BJP who got 28,858 votes. The voter turnout was a poor 45.64 %.
