About Mannargudi Assembly Constituency

Mannargudi is constituency No. 167 of Tamil Nadu legislative assembly. This unreserved constituency is situated in Tiruvarur district. It is part of the Thanjavur Lok Sabha constituency.

According to the Election Commission of India, Mannargudi has a total of 2,05,522 registered voters out of which 1,03,089 are male and 1,02,433 are female.

In the 2011 assembly elections, the DMK won this seat by a narrow margin of 3,982 votes. Rajaa T.R.B, the winning candidate from DMK, got 81,320 votes. Rajamanickam Siva of AIADMK was the runner-up; he got 77,338 votes. The voter turnout was 80.98%. It was an important win for DMK because Mannargudi had been with CPI(M) for three consecutive terms.
